About the Role: Our Core Technology organization works with all our divisions to conceptualize, develop and produce fluoropolymer intermediates and composites for incorporation into Gore Products. We are looking for a Manufacturing Technician to join our team on second shift in Elkton, Maryland. In this role, you will have the opportunity to join an exciting team and help ensure that we are meeting both our operations objectives and business needs. You will understand and apply the best-in-class manufacturing principles in a High Technology and High Quality Culture. The standard weekly hours are Monday through Friday from 3:00pm-11:30pm.
Please note that only evening, night and weekend shift positions are eligible for shift differential pay.
Learn, practice, support, and teach the Gore culture
Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain complex process equipment
Inspect, test, and troubleshoot product both on and off line
Perform detailed and accurate record keeping in a timely manner
Follow work instructions, SOP guidelines, and other modules of the quality system
Interact and communicate with a cross-functional group, including shop associates, process engineers, and new-product-development associates
Multi-task and operate several pieces of equipment simultaneously in a safe manner
Practice and advocate safety policies
Work independently as well as in a team
Must have effective communications skills, both verbal and written with a demonstrated ability to positively influence teammates
Basic computer skills and ability to learn more advanced computer applications
2 years minimum mechanical aptitude and machine operation experience
Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and personal development
Demonstrated documentation habits, problem solving, and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to make good product quality decisions with an attention to detail
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and operate several pieces of equipment simultaneously in a safe manner
Ability to lift, push, and pull 35lbs on a routine basis
Ability to work overtime as the business requires, including weekends
Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience working in a team oriented environment with quality systems exposure
