POSITION: Part-time Maintenance Technician with light custodial responsibilities.
HOURS OF DUTY: The Maintenance Technician position requires a minimum of 25 hours per week to include Sunday mornings and special events/holidays.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following are the primary duties/responsibilities for the Maintenance Technician. However, they are subject to adjustment as may be required to support specific events/tasks/or seasonal requirements of SAKLC.: Unlock/Open building/offices as may be required for daily operation or special events; some set-up of rooms as needed.
Flexible schedule to include Sundays, Church Holidays, and special events.
During Hurricane season and severe weather, prepare the buildings as necessary and to be on call to return when safe to begin clean-up operations as may be required
Inspect all lighting fixtures and exit signs weekly for proper operation. Replace light bulbs and defective ballasts as may be necessary. Coordinate with approved electricians for major electrical repairs or additional services.
Inspect all plumbing fixtures (bathrooms and kitchen) daily for proper operation to include hot water heaters. Conduct minor repair as necessary. Coordinate with approved plumbers for additional services/major repairs.
A Basic level of HVAC knowledge is required.
Perform weekly inspection of the kitchen to ensure all refrigeration is operational, filters are clean surfaces are clean and sanitized.
Check church building and church house structure for any defects and repair if minor work is required.
Be the “point person” for all contractors and professional work performed at SAKLC.
Maintain the tool/equipment room(s) and the church’s various storage areas.
In conjunction with the SAKLC Property Chair, oversee SAKLC buildings meet local buildings code requirements, such as fire codes, smoke, security intrusion devices, and proper operation of emergency lighting. Conduct a regular morning routine of checking the grounds and clean up as may be required.
Daily removal of trash and recyclables to the proper outside containers.
Check the water level in all exterior fountains and ensure fountains are in working order. Clean fountains as necessary.
Advise the Director of Operations and SAKLC Property Chair of any vandalism or damage.
Coordinate with the weekly cleaning service for any specific requirements.
Ensure daily that all bathrooms are clean, fully stocked and faucets and toilets are in operational order.
Disinfect all bathroom and office surfaces to include Sanctuary pews, door handles, and Nursery weekly or per COVID-19 protocols. Proper use of the automatic spray disinfectant sprayer will be required. Disinfect all kitchen surfaces after use. Order supplies for this purpose as necessary.
Clean rugs, walls, surfaces, and trash cans as needed and coordinate for annual cleanings with approved vendors.
Power-wash all sidewalks, exterior walls, and other surfaces as required.
Make minor carpentry repairs, painting, floor/wall repairs as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS: A commitment to the mission, vision, and ministry of SAKLC.
Have experience with general construction tools and have the technical skills to demonstrate an understanding of minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical, concrete, outside low voltage lighting, irrigation, air conditional systems up to 10 Tons, painting, flooring, etc.
Must maintain confidentiality as appropriate.
Must be energetic, initiative-taker, and willing to take on new tasks as needed.
Must be able to “see what needs to be fixed and fix it”.
A willingness to work and partner with others on the various ministry teams or office staff.
Some computer skills include using a computer or tablet, the use of email, and the ability to navigate through basic WORD and EXCEL programs.
The ability to use a computer for information gathering and ordering supplies.
The ability to read and understand blueprints and technical documents.
The ability to lift ladders and other equipment that may weigh as much as 50 lbs.
The ability to climb ladders (up to twenty feet).
The ability to bend and kneel to perform tasks as may be necessary.
The ability to stand for long periods of time.
The ability to walk throughout the property daily (approx. 4 acres).
Be friendly, open, and willing to listen and learn. Be able to express one’s opinion when necessary.
Be able to pass all background checks.
Have a positive work ethic.
Have a list of previous employers for reference.
Must be able to drive, have a car, van, or pickup truck, and be willing to use it for supporting Church requirements.
Must have a cell phone and be able to receive and answer calls at night or on weekends.
Be able to work on Sunday mornings (5 hours) and regularly scheduled church events. Be flexible in hours of work and days off as requirements may shift during the year.

COMPENSATION: Salary is based on experience and certifications with a part-time hourly rate equivalent to $30,000 to $35,000 per year.
SAKLC is offering a $3000 sign-on incentive bonus, with $1500 paid after one month of satisfactory employment and the remaining $1500 paid after successfully completing 90 days of employment.
BENEFITS: Paid time off (holidays and paid personal time) per offer letter.
